Home    Australian Spotted Ducks:

Dispite of their name these ducks originated from America. Created in 1920s from cross-breading and exhibited in 1938.

Their size ranges between the longer-billed Mallards and the fat, short-billed Calls. The males weigh between 32 and 38 ounces and for females weigh between 28 and 34 ounces. There are three color varieties those are: Green headed, Blue headed and Silver headed.

Australian Spotted Duck's are great layers and excellent mothers. The ducklings mature very quickly. Like Calls, these ducks are capable of flight, so you should  keep one wing clipped if you have a small property.
