Crested ducks:

The only way to describe a crested duck is basicly a duck which has  a furball on its head. These Ducks are dual purpose breeds which both, lay good eggs and are good for the table.

Weight: Drake: 7 pounds and Duck: 6 Pounds.

How is a crested Duck made: The crested gene in these ducks is linked to a lethal condition during incubation. Ducklings carrying both genes (homozygous) for the crest, some of the Ducklings do not survive hatching. Of those that do hatch, typically 1/3 of them will not have crests. It is easy for breeders to see how the crests will develop on the newly hatched duckling.
